Juoigan/Jojk has an unbroken tradition for thousands of years. It is the music of the people, a music for reindeer herders and fishermen. But it is not undisputed. Juoigan has been subject to the death penalty because it was considered sorcery music. What is the reason why the music has survived both Christian missionaries and authorities over the years? Via the juoigan story, we get a story about the Sami, in a film with personal appeal and fantastic images and music.
